Chinese coast guard ships "Meishan" and "Huishan" arrived in the Russian Far Eastern port of Vladivostok to participate in joint exercises and patrols with Russian forces, Reuters reported.
"During the visit, a number of events are planned, including joint exercises and patrols,", said a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry's representative office in Vladivostok.
The exercises will continue until September 20.
Meanwhile, the US has approved a possible sale of military spare parts to Taiwan for about $228 million, Reuters reported, as quoted by BTA.
Authorization was granted by the State Department. It allows the return, repair and reshipment of spare parts and related items.
