Israeli security services have arrested an Israeli national on suspicion of involvement in an Iranian-backed assassination plot. The plot was directed against high-ranking Israelis, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reported "Reuters", quoted by BTA.
The security services reported that the arrested person is a businessman with ties to Turkey. He participated in at least two meetings in Iran that discussed the possible assassination of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Galant and the head of the Shin Bet intelligence agency.
Last week Shin Bet revealed a plot by the Lebanese group “Hezbollah” for the assassination of the former Chief of General Staff of the Israeli Army and former Minister of Defense Moshe Ya'alon.
