Farage: We are winning the next general election - 1

The leader of "Reform UK" Nigel Farage, once known as an advocate of Brexit, attacked the ruling Labor party last night, declaring that his right-wing party is winning more and more potential voters disillusioned with the government and will win the next general election in Britain, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

He said this to around four thousand supporters during the national party conference in the English city of Birmingham.

60-year-old Farage, a self-described "problem person", hopes his party will be able to oust Prime Minister Keir Starmer's current Labor government in an election due in 2029, according to Reuters.

"The majority of hitherto passive voters are now with us on the main issues we care about (...) We can win the next general election because there are enough people who share our principles," Farage said at the party forum.

Since the beginning of June, the membership table of "Reform the United Kingdom" has doubled from about 40,000 people to more than 80,000, Reuters noted, adding that Farage's party won 4.1 million votes, or 14 percent of the vote, in the July election. Voters accordingly delivered five seats to the party in the House of Commons (the lower house of the British Parliament).

Members of the ruling Labor Party are over 350,000 people, the agency says.
