U.S. Vice President Kamala's campaign spending last month Harris, who is the contender of the Democratic Party for the presidential election on November 5, is three times larger than the headquarters of the Republican candidate Donald Trump for August, Reuters reported, cited by BTA, referring to data presented by the campaign rival headquarters.
Harris, who began her re-election campaign in July after replacing incumbent US President Joe Biden, who has withdrawn from the race, disclosed $174 million in expenses to the US Federal Election Commission last month.
Trump's staff, in turn, reported spending of $61 million.
While Harris' financial advantage from donations is helping her run a series of campaign TV ads, it may not carry her to victory in November, Reuters noted, noting that in 2016 Trump defeated Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton Clinton with less finances.
Before the Federal Election Commission, the vice president of the United States declared $190 million in donations in August, while for Trump it was $45 million.
The majority of the expenses declared by the two current rivals for August were specifically for advertisements, with smaller amounts being given for pre-election events, travel and salaries of staff members, the agency said.
Harris' office also said it made a $75,000 donation to the Detroit United Fund, a nonprofit working to increase black voter turnout in the swing state of Michigan, Reuters added.
