Three people, including a child, were killed and several were injured in a Russian missile strike on the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky - Kryvyi Rih, said the head of the city's Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, quoted by the Ukrinform agency.
"An emergency rescue operation is currently underway. At least two people have been killed and three others injured, including children, after Russia attacked a residential area. There may still be people buried under the rubble," the official wrote in "Telegram".
Vilkul later specified that the Russian strike killed three people after an elderly woman died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.
The information about three deaths was confirmed in "Telegram" and by the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region Serhiy Lisak.
"Residential buildings were damaged. We will announce more details later," the official wrote.
According to the Ukrainian air defense, Russia fired cruise and ballistic missiles against Kryvyi Rih last night.
