Russia carried out a drone strike tonight on the Ukrainian capital, causing damage to civilian infrastructure, representatives of the authorities in Kyiv reported, quoted by Reuters and BTA.
More than a dozen Iranian-made combat drones were spotted over the city, most of which were shot down, said the head of the local military administration Serhiy Popko.
During the attack, which lasted several hours, around 20 cars and a gas pipeline in a residential area were damaged. Debris was also found in a children's playground, he said.
Initially, the military administration announced in the "Telegram" application that fallen debris from enemy drones caused a fire in a residential building in the "Pechersky" district of Kyiv. The information was confirmed by the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaly Klitschko. A little later, however, the military administration specified that, according to preliminary data, a gas pipeline was depressurized as a result of the attack by a Russian drone. Workers of the "Kyivgaz" company urgently arrived at the scene of the accident, Ukrinform reported.
