The statements of the head of state of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, regarding the country's nuclear doctrine are not only possible, but should be considered a signal to the West. This was emphasized to reporters by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, TASS reported, as quoted by Focus.
"This should be considered a definite signal," Peskov said in response to the question of whether the innovations in the nuclear doctrine outlined by Putin a day ago could be taken as a signal to the West.
"This is a signal that warns countries of the consequences if they participate in an attack against the Russian Federation by various means, not necessarily nuclear,", Putin's spokesman explained.
The new nuclear doctrine will spell out the possibility of using nuclear weapons in the event of "aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear state, but with the participation or support of a nuclear one."
