Early this morning, Russia launched a drone strike against Kiev and Ukrainian air defense units took part in repelling the strikes, Reuters reported, citing BTA, citing the armed forces of Ukraine.
The agency said eyewitnesses heard several explosions that sounded like the activation of air defense systems and saw objects hit in the air.
An airstrike alert was declared in Kyiv, its environs and across eastern Ukraine, with the Ukrainian Air Force warning that Russia had launched drones against those regions.
Meanwhile, the head of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, wrote in "Telegram" that air defense systems shot down several targets over Belgorod and in the region, TASS reported. He added that there were no reports of casualties or damage.
