UN investigation finds Israel pursued concerted policy for the destruction of the health system in Gaza during the war, which amounts to war crimes and crimes against humanity, reported "Reuters". The report highlights that children have borne the brunt of the attacks, suffering directly and indirectly from the collapse of the health system. The document, which covers the first 10 months of the war, will be presented to the UN General Assembly on October 30.
Israel rejects the accusations, calling the report "outrageous" and an attempt to delegitimize the state. Israeli authorities say they are targeting militants holed up in civilian facilities and are trying to minimize civilian casualties.
However, the UN report accused Israeli forces of deliberately killing medical personnel, attacking ambulances and blocking patients in need of medical evacuation.
