At least 20 people were injured when a drone, launched from Lebanon, fell near the village of Binyamin in northern Israel, N12 TV reported.

8 people received lacerations, the condition of three of them is assessed as serious.

The TV channel notes that there was no air raid warning in the area.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has assured his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni in a telephone conversation that he regrets "any harm" caused to the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) along the Lebanese-Israeli border.

The head of the Israeli cabinet published a corresponding statement on X (formerly Twitter).

"I regretted any harm caused to staff and stressed that our forces are doing everything possible to prevent this from happening again. I have informed the Prime Minister of Italy of my numerous appeals to the UN Secretary General that the time has come to withdraw UNIFIL forces from Hezbollah strongholds and war zones,” Netanyahu wrote. “Israel will make every effort to prevent losses among UNIFIL, and will also do everything possible to win the war,”, the Israeli prime minister added.

Netanyahu noted that "some European leaders" puts pressure "in the wrong direction". "Instead of criticizing Israel, they should have criticized the Hezbollah movement." and his Iranian patrons who use UNIFIL as a human shield”, he explained.

Earlier, Netanyahu addressed Guterres with a request for the immediate withdrawal of UNIFIL peacekeeping forces from the combat zone in the Lebanese-Israeli border area. According to him, the UN peacekeepers, remaining in their positions, “become hostages” of armed units of the Shiite organization Hezbollah, against which the actions of the Israeli troops are directed.

On October 10, UNIFIL reported shelling of its headquarters and fortresses by the Israeli army. According to UNIFIL, two peacekeepers were wounded. The Israeli army, in turn, said that its soldiers fired at a target that posed a threat to them and was located next to the UNIFIL position, and that the peacekeepers were injured accidentally. At the same time, the military noted that they had warned the UN forces of the upcoming battles and ordered them to “take shelter in appropriate places".
