The Russian Embassy in the United States States condemned Washington's decision to transfer $20 billion to Ukraine using frozen Russian assets, calling the move "theft raised to the level of state policy".
In a statement published on Wednesday, the embassy emphasized that such a decision is a gross violation of international law, RIA Novosti reported.
„Even the common man understands that the theft raised here to the rank of state policy can be called truly „significant” in this case”, the diplomatic mission said in a comment to journalists.
It is also noted that “neocolonial habits“ of a narrow group of countries led by the United States provoked a negative reaction from most members of the world community. As confirmation, the embassy mentioned the results of the BRICS summit in Kazan, where the need to create an independent financial system protected from such illegal actions was emphasized.
On October 19, it became clear that the United States was ready to provide Ukraine with up to $20 billion as part of a G7 loan with repayment from profits obtained from frozen Russian assets, and the request became a fact last night.
