Reconnaissance aircraft Boeing P- 8 Poseidon of the US-led international anti-terrorist coalition came dangerously close to a Su-35 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces over the Eastern Mediterranean.
This was announced by the deputy head of the Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, Captain 1st Rank Oleg Ignasyuk, TASS reported, quoted by FOCUS.
"Over the waters of the eastern Mediterranean, there was a dangerous approach between a coalition Boeing P-8 Poseidon patrol aircraft and a Russian Air Force Su-35 aircraft, which was carrying out a planned operation. The Russian pilot, demonstrating high professionalism, immediately took the necessary measures to prevent a collision, he explained.
According to Ignasiuk, the aviation of the international anti-terrorist coalition, led by the USA, continues to create dangerous situations in the sky over Syria. Over the Al Tanf area, 11 violations by coalition aviation of the rules for the use of Syrian airspace were recorded by two pairs of F-15 fighters (twice each), a pair of F/A-18 fighters and an MC-12W electronic reconnaissance aircraft and observation.
Yesterday, four cases were also registered by the coalition of violating the provisions of the deconfliction protocols of December 9, 2019, related to flights of unmanned aerial vehicles that were not coordinated with the Russian side.
