The senior representative of "Hamas" Sami Abu Zuhri said today that the Palestinian Islamist movement is studying new proposals by mediators to end the war in the Gaza Strip, but reiterated that they must include a complete withdrawal of the Israeli military from the coastal enclave, Reuters reported.
"The Movement confirmed that it is open to any deal or ideas to end the suffering of our people in Gaza and achieve a lasting ceasefire and withdrawal of the occupation from the entire Gaza Strip," Zuhri said in a video message.
He also said the agreement should end Israel's blockade of the Palestinian enclave, allow unrestricted aid and reconstruction to Gaza, and achieve an exchange of Israeli hostages in Gaza for Palestinian prisoners in Israel.

Zuhri's statement does not mean a change in the movement's position on current conditions, Reuters notes.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the war can only end when the Palestinian Islamist movement "Hamas" be destroyed.
