Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov plans to visit Malta next month, for to participate in a meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), reported Reuters, referring to information from today in the Russian "Vedomosti" newspaper, reported BTA.
"Vedomosti" got the information from the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. This will be Lavrov's first visit to a European Union country since Russian forces invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
The Maltese embassy in Russia told "Vedomosti" that the decision to hold an OSCE ministerial meeting on the island on December 5 and 6 "applies to all members, including the Russian Federation". "The OSCE delegations regularly receive information on the progress of the preparations. Additional practical information, including invitations, will be sent to all OSCE delegations," the embassy said.
