Mickoski comments on the Prespa Agreement: He will use the name 'Macedonia', as in Greece - 1

The Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia (RSM) Hristijan Mickoski announced that in his statements and interviews until now he has referred to the country as "Macedonia" and the "Macedonian" citizens, for whom he says he is "fighting", writes ProtoThema, quoted by Focus.

"I can tell you that nowhere in the Prespa Agreement is the name "Macedonian" prohibited; or "Macedonia". They are regulated in article 7, paragraphs 2 and 3 of the agreement, and we can agree that we also have the right to use the adjective "Macedonian", as the Greeks have the same right", the prime minister said.

His statement was in response to a question posed by the MP and leader of the nationalist opposition party "Levitsa" Dimitar Apasiev. He called Mickoski "prime minister of North Macedonia" and accused him of having previously been openly against the Prespa Agreement and now claiming to "observe" it.

Mitskoski reproached Apasiev that every month he signs as a deputy from "North Macedonia" in order to receive his parliamentary remuneration, and noted that he visits Halkidiki in the summer.

"Apasiev does not live from hydroelectric plants, but from a professor's salary,", he replied. The leader of the "Left" denied this, stressing that he himself is a professor of law at the State University in Stip.

Mickoski, who is a professor of mechanical engineering (specializing in energy) at the University of Skopje, was accused by Apasiev of using his position for personal gain.
