A motorcade in support of US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance passed through Beverly Hills yesterday in Los Angeles County, quoted by BTA.
On the central boulevard "Rodeo Drive", famous for its luxury stores, about thirty cars passed with a deafening roar of engines and honking horns. "Beverly Hills for Donald Trump" flags fluttered from their windows. and "Trump-Vance 2024".
"We recently witnessed a pro-Trump march in the heart of Beverly Hills," Evgeni Veselinov, founder of the first Bulgarian school and the first Bulgarian newspaper on the West Bank, told BTA. Veselinov, who is now the editor-in-chief of the news site for Bulgarians in California *BulgariCA*, noted that the march was organized in the largest and most populous American state.
However, California, which has the most votes in the Electoral College — 54 in number are likely to vote for Trump's Democratic challenger Kamala Harris, polls show in the days leading up to the Nov. 5 presidential election.
Tuesday's presidential election is expected to be highly contested, with polls showing Harris and Trump tied for victory in seven key swing states that are likely to decide the outcome.
Veselinov noted that in American society there is a "great division" between supporters of the two main political parties. According to him, the political division in Bulgaria "is nothing compared to America".
