The Russian city of Saratov was targeted by a Ukrainian drone overnight, Saratov Region Governor Roman Busargin said on Telegram, as quoted by Reuters and BTA.
The drone was destroyed, but debris fell into an industrial area. There were no reports of casualties, Busargin said.
Saratov is located 730 km southeast of Moscow and hundreds of kilometers from the border with Ukraine. The city is home to an oil refinery and a large air base with strategic bombers, which is less than 20 km away and has already been the target of Ukrainian strikes, Reuters notes.
