„I have no plans to talk to Vladimir Putin”, British MP Keir Starmer said after the criticism that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky directed at German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The British Prime Minister said this on his way to Rio de Janeiro for the G20 meeting. He was asked by journalists on board to comment on Scholz's decision to speak with Putin. “The question for Chancellor Scholz is who he will talk to. I have no intention of talking to Putin”, Starmer said and noted that the 1,000th day of the war is approaching – 1000 days with great consequences and sacrifices for the Ukrainian people.
Keir Starmer also said that the deployment of North Korean troops in Ukraine “shows Russia’s desperation”, but it also has “serious implications for European security”. For this reason, he calls on world leaders to “redouble their efforts to strengthen support for Ukraine” and indicated that it was a priority on his agenda at the G-20 meeting. The British Prime Minister expects US President-elect Donald Trump to abide by everything agreed at the summit in Rio de Janeiro, because the issues to be discussed are extremely important.
