Norway drops investigation into Hezbollah pager blasts - 1

The Norwegian Security Service (PST) has announced , that there was insufficient evidence to continue the investigation into a possible Norwegian connection to the supply of pagers that blew up in September in Lebanon. The attack killed dozens and injured thousands of people, reported "Reuters".

The explosions, for which Israel claimed responsibility, surprised the Iran-backed group “Hezbollah” and were followed by a large-scale military offensive.

PST launched an investigation after Bulgarian authorities turned their attention to a Norwegian citizen who owns a Bulgarian company linked to pagers. However, a spokesman for the office said there was “no reason to open a normal investigation”.

Meanwhile, the Bulgarian DANS stated that the devices were not manufactured or exported from Bulgaria.

The main suspicion was directed at the 39-year-old Norwegian citizen Rinson Jose, who had left Norway for the USA the day before the incident. Jose, a former employee of the Norwegian company “DN Media Group”, contacted his employer on November 5, which led to the police closing the case.

Norwegian authorities are not disclosing Jose's whereabouts, and the lack of new evidence has closed the investigation.
