Lithuanian authorities have tightened the rules for accepting applications for residence permits (RP) for foreigners who turn to external service providers working outside the country, the director of the "Migration" Evelina Gudzinskite.

"External service providers will only be able to accept requests from citizens of the country in which they operate. This order is effective from November 30,” she said on national radio LRT.

As the director explained, the decision was made taking into account current trends in the field of migration, possible threats to national security, as well as the administrative capabilities of the representative providing the services.< /p>

In 2024 Lithuania reduced the number of centers of external service providers. They were closed in Jordan, Lebanon, Nepal and Sri Lanka. There are currently 30 such centers accredited by Vilnius operating in different countries.
