Syrian rebels announced that have taken control of the city of Deraa in southern Syria, reported "Al-Jazeera", quoted by BNR.
Before that, there were reports of the capture of several neighborhoods and a curfew announced by the Islamists. The opposition also announced that they control almost the entire territory of the province of the same name.
"Reuters" for its part informed that, according to Islamist sources, the capture of the city took place after reaching an agreement, with which they guaranteed the representatives of the army a safe passage in the direction of Damascus. The agency noted that rebels also seized a military base near the city of Herak, as well as part of the Nassib checkpoint on the border with Jordan, which led to the suspension of traffic through it.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian authorities called on their citizens to leave Syrian territory. A similar call was made by the Canadian Foreign Ministry. The State Department issued a statement advising Americans to leave and those who must stay to prepare appropriate contingency plans.
