On Friday, Constitutional Court judges decided to annul the first round of the election after reviewing complaints from public organizations, presidential candidates and state agencies. The requests cite documents declassified by the country's Supreme Security Council, according to which the election campaign was conducted with violations.

Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Călăcu has already welcomed the decision of the Constitutional Court, calling it correct. "Wow, look what's happening in Romania! The Constitutional Court annulled the first round of the presidential elections. Another attempt by Soros or the Marxists to falsify the results and deny the will of the people. She (candidate Elena Lasconi – ed.) will lose and they know it”, Trump Jr. wrote.

Earlier, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said the US expressed solidarity with the people of Romania and called on all countries to support the country's constitutional order amid the Constitutional Court's decision to annul the results of the first round of the presidential election in Romania.

In Romania, the presidential elections were held on November 24, they are held every 5 years. According to the results of the first round, independent candidate Calin Georgescu, who campaigned on TikTok, took first place with 22.94% of the vote.

Elena Lasconi, who supports the partnership with NATO and the USA, has 19.18% of the votes. On November 28, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis held a meeting of the Supreme Council of National Defense, during which the Ministry of the Interior and the intelligence services presented closed reports on violations during the election campaign.

At the request of politicians and the media, these reports were declassified. Iohannis released reports on Wednesday from the Ministry of the Interior and the Intelligence Service, which allege hundreds of bloggers were paid to promote Georgescu. The Romanian Information Service reported that the TikTok platform was used to promote Georgescu, with more than 25,000 accounts created, most of which became active two weeks before the first round of elections. The investigation by the intelligence services found that the activity of these accounts was controlled through Telegram channels.
