The National Coalition of Opposition and Revolutionary Forces (NCORS) considers maintaining good relations with Russia of paramount importance. Anas al-Abda, a member of the NKORS political committee, said this in an interview with TASS.

„We strive to maintain good relations with Russia, and in this context our common interests should be of primary importance,”, the interlocutor said. This is how he answered the question about the future of the Russian presence in Syria and the functioning of the Russian base in Tartus.

Iraq has completely closed the checkpoint "Al-Qaim" on the border with Syria, through which hundreds of Syrian soldiers crossed the day before. This statement was made by the Iraqi agency INA.

According to him, the country's authorities have also taken additional measures to strengthen their country on the border with Syria, including installing thermal imaging cameras there.

Earlier, the information portal Shafaq News reported that the Iraqi authorities were building a tent camp to accommodate soldiers from the Syrian armed forces who crossed the country's border the previous day and on Sunday morning; a decision on their future fate has not yet been made. On December 7, INA reported that the country's authorities received more than a thousand soldiers from the Syrian army who passed through the "Al-Qaim" checkpoint.
