Iraq insists that the will of the people be respected

Syria's neighbor - Iraq, today insisted that it be "considered" the will of the people of Syria and the territorial integrity of the country. "Iraq reaffirms the need to respect the will of all Syrians and emphasizes that the security, territorial integrity and independence of Syria are of paramount importance,", Iraqi government spokesman Basim Allawadi said in a statement.

King of Jordan is all about avoiding chaos

The king of another country bordering Syria, Jordan, Abdullah II, said his country respected the "choice" made by the Syrian people, urging to avoid Syria falling into "chaos" after the fall of President Bashar Assad from power.

"Jordan stands by its Syrian brothers and respects their will and their choice" is the monarch's opinion, disseminated by his cabinet. Egypt calls for national consensus

Qatar believes that national institutions should be preserved

The Qatari Foreign Ministry, like the King of Jordan, said today that Syria must not "sink into chaos" after the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's regime. The Persian Gulf state said it was "monitoring developments in Syria closely" and emphasizes the "need to preserve national institutions and the state alone in order to protect it from chaos," said the statement by the Qatari Foreign Ministry, cited by AFP.

Taliban in Afghanistan congratulates Syrian people and rebels

Afghanistan's ruling Taliban today congratulated the Syrian people and the rebels on the fall of Assad from power. They announced that they hoped "the transfer of power would take place according to the wishes of the people of Syria" and to end foreign interference.

"We express our hope (...) for paving the way to an independent state government that serves the people and Islam,", the Taliban foreign ministry announced. "We encourage the adoption of a constructive foreign policy course that will allow Syria to shake off foreign influence," the statement added.
