Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered the army to "prepare to remain" throughout the winter in the buffer zone between Israel and Syria, located atop the Golan Heights, part of which Israel captured during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, AFP reported, quoted by BTA.
"Because of what is happening in Syria, it is extremely important for our security to hold on to Mount Hermon“, the statement said, quoted by Reuters.
