SPD proposes ban on Taurus missile deliveries to Ukraine in election program - 1

In its election program, the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) called for a ban on the transfer of Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine. This decision supports the position of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz regarding weapons supplies to Ukraine, reports Focus.

However, the SPD supports the deployment of American long-range missiles in Germany and plans to increase defense spending to at least two percent of the country's gross domestic product.

Tax reform and social policy
The SPD also proposes introducing a tax on the "super-rich", with the aim of taxing assets exceeding 100 million euros. At the same time, the party plans to ease the tax burden on 95 percent of the population and businesses. Additionally, the party's program includes a proposal to limit the maximum speed on highways to 130 km/h and increase the minimum wage to 15 euros per hour.

German election predictions
Despite these proposals, recent polls indicate that the SPD has little chance of forming the next government in Germany. According to the latest polls, Scholz's party has only 17% support among voters, significantly less than the conservative CDU/CSU bloc, which is leading with 31% support.
