The Bulgarian National Radio reported another tragedy involving migrants near the island of Rhodes. This time, the victims are eight. Three of them are small children.
The Greek authorities are conducting a large-scale rescue operation at sea near the island of Rhodes. A motorboat with an unknown number of migrants sank near the island. The reason is the trafficker, who tried to avoid arrest by border guards.
As a result, there are victims, including children under the age of 6. Authorities report that 18 people were rescued.
There is no exact information about the total number of migrants traveling in the boat. It is believed that at least ten more people are at sea, said local fishermen who volunteered to help the hydrologists.
Merchant Fleet Minister Stylianides expressed his outrage that traffickers had once again sacrificed the lives of innocent people, including young children. He added that Greece, as part of the European Union, is striving to stop the actions of traffickers who only care about profit from the cruel trade in people.
