On the eve of Christmas, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a post on the X social network, in which he announced an important conversation with His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew. In his message, he expressed his gratitude for the spiritual support of His All-Holiness Patriarch to Ukraine and for his prayers for the Ukrainian people.
Zelensky noted that the efforts of the Patriarchate to strengthen international religious support for Ukraine are of great importance. He stressed that the contribution of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to the spiritual independence of Ukraine is extremely valuable for the country, especially in the context of the ongoing effort to preserve national identity and sovereignty.
“We deeply appreciate the efforts of the Patriarchate to strengthen support for Ukraine within the global religious community and its contribution to our spiritual independence“, Zelensky wrote.
Concluding his message, the president stressed that Ukraine is making every effort to ensure that 2025 will be a year of just and lasting peace for both Ukraine and the whole world.
"We are doing everything possible to make 2025 a year of just and lasting peace for our country and the whole world," the Ukrainian president added.
