Technology tycoon Elon Musk said that very few companies want to invest in Britain under the leadership of Keir Starmer in response to a letter from Scottish politicians who want his car company "Tesla" to open a new gigafactory on the Island, BNR reported.
Elon Musk accused the current British administration of pushing away people who create wealth. In response to the Scottish politicians' request, he wrote on the social network X: “Very few companies will be willing to invest in the UK with this government“.
Keir Starmer has made attracting more businesses to Britain central to his economic plan as he battles low economic growth following tax increases in the Budget. In September, he said he would welcome cash from Tesla after a scandal erupted over his refusal to invite Musk to an investment summit in the UK.
The tech mogul, who is the world's richest person, was reportedly snubbed by 10 Downing Street over his social media posts criticising Labour.
Musk said he "doesn't think anyone should go to the UK, where they release convicted paedophiles, to jail people for social media posts". He also accused Starmer of orchestrating a crackdown on free speech in the UK.
During the far-right riots in the summer, he criticised the sentences handed down to those involved.
