Germany maintains intensive contacts with those in power in Damascus and also maintains contact with opposition groups in Syria, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said today, quoted by Reuters and BTA.
He stressed the importance of the multiethnic future of the Middle Eastern country.
“We will look closely at how we can make progress by further developing our contacts, while at the same time enabling this process to develop for a good future for Syria as a country and for the citizens of Syria“, Scholz told reporters during a visit to a “Rolls Royce“ factory south of Berlin.
