The White House said that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who announced his resignation yesterday after nine years in power, was a "loyal friend" of the United States, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"Prime Minister Trudeau was a loyal friend of the United States during the decade he led the Canadian government. We worked closely together on a full range of issues," White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre told media representatives.
"The President (Joe Biden) is grateful for the Prime Minister's cooperation in everything and for his dedication to protecting North America from the geopolitical threats of the 21st century," Jean-Pierre added.
