Thanks to the work of the current presidential administration over the past four years, the United States is now stronger on the international stage, President Joe Biden said in a speech at the State Department - one week before handing over power to his chosen successor, Donald Trump, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
"America is stronger, our alliances are stronger, our adversaries and competitors are weaker", Biden said.
"According to recent forecasts, given China's current trajectory, they will never overtake us. Period," the US president added.
We cannot abandon Ukraine, Biden also stressed.
"We helped the Ukrainians stop (Russian President Vladimir) Putin. And three years later, Putin has failed in all his strategic goals. He has failed because of NATO unity. We cannot abandon (Ukraine)", the US president stressed.
Biden also assured that a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip could be concluded soon.
"We are about to see a proposal that I outlined in detail a few months ago finally come to fruition", the Democratic president added. He assured that his administration is working hard to conclude the agreement, a week before Trump takes office.
Those who do not believe in climate change are "totally wrong", Biden stressed. He called global warming "the greatest threat to humanity".
