Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar warned shortly after the Gaza ceasefire came into effect that keeping the radical Hamas movement in power in the Palestinian enclave would lead to continued regional instability.
“If "Hamas" remains in power, the regional instability it causes will continue. There will be no peace, stability and security for both sides (Israelis and Palestinians) if "Hamas" remains in power in the Gaza Strip," Saar told a press conference.
The first phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip began at 11:15 a.m. local time after a delay of about three hours caused by the fact that "Hamas" did not have time to give the mediators the names of the hostages who were released today.
