Elon Musk criticizes Donald Trump's Stargate initiative - 1

Elon Musk has expressed skepticism about Donald Trump's initiative to create a "purely American artificial intelligence", estimated at $500 billion, CNN reports, quoted by Focus.

On January 21, the day after taking office, Donald Trump announced the start of the ambitious Stargate project, the goal of which is to build infrastructure for the next generation of artificial intelligence. The project, probably named after the cult film "Stargate", envisages the creation of a network of data centers and virtual infrastructure across the country. The president described Stargate as the "largest AI infrastructure project in history."

Key players in the initiative include OpenAI, Oracle and SoftBank. The executives of these companies - Sam Altman and Larry Ellison - were present with Trump at the announcement of the program.

Elon Musk, although not officially involved, took issue with the news via the social platform X. Immediately after the news broke, he expressed doubts about the financial sustainability of the project:
"They don't really have the money," Musk wrote. "SoftBank has provided much less than $10 billion. I have this from a reliable source."

Musk's statement cast a shadow over Stargate's grandiose plans and highlighted the risks facing the project. The reactions of industry leaders remain to be seen as the US attempts to assert its leadership role in the field of artificial intelligence.
