One of the serious accidents this morning occurred in the area of the city of Ilgun, Konya district, where a bus crashed into a parked truck and a TIR truck. The incident on the Konya-Afyonkarahisar highway resulted in the loss of two lives and the injury of between 18 and 24 people, according to various sources - Turkish television CNN-Turk and the Anatolian Agency, BTA reports.
The bus was carrying 35 passengers. After the report of the accident, numerous teams from the police, gendarmerie, fire department and ambulances were sent to the area. An investigation into the causes of the traffic accident has been launched.
Fatal accident in Istanbul
The second accident this morning occurred in the Tuzla district of Istanbul, where a company minibus went off the road and fell into a small river from a height of 20 meters. The accident claimed the life of one person and left 14 injured.
Local authorities sent teams of police, fire brigade, medical specialists and the Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) to the scene. The injured were taken to a hospital for emergency medical care.
