The Times has outlined four ways to end the conflict in Ukraine - 1

The fighting in Ukraine could end in four ways, believes the military editor of the newspaper The Times Anthony Lloyd.

According to him, the first option implies an obvious military defeat for Ukraine due to a reduction in military aid from the United States.

Lloyd described the second scenario as a “bad world“: by this he means that the Ukrainian authorities would start negotiations with Moscow from the position of the weaker party and Ukraine would give up some territories, which would also be considered a victory for Russia and a defeat for Kiev and its NATO allies.

The journalist points to a ceasefire as a third option to stop the conflict. At the same time, he specifies that in the event of a subsequent peace treaty, such a scenario could lead to regional stability and Ukraine would receive security guarantees. However, a ceasefire without any agreement would only freeze the conflict, Lloyd added.

The Times correspondent pointed out that a fourth way to end the conflict is to reinforce Ukraine with even more weapons and impose new sanctions on Russia, so that Kiev enters negotiations from a position of strength. The author notes that Ukraine is unlikely to be able to regain all of its lost territory.
