US resumes supply of improved long-range GLSDB missiles to Kiev - 1

Washington intends to resume sending Kiev long-range GLSDB missiles to replace ATACMS tactical missiles, whose stocks in Ukraine were depleted at the end of January. This was reported by Reuters, citing its sources.

According to them, the supply of long-range GLSDB precision-guided missiles, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 150 km, should compensate for the shortage of ATACMS missiles, which can hit targets at a distance of up to 300 km. According to the agency, the GLSDBs are believed to have been “modernized to better counter Russian electronic countermeasures“.

The contracts for the purchase of these missiles were signed during the administration of the 46th US President, Joe Biden.

Sources told Reuters that the Ukrainian armed forces will be able to use the GLSDB on the battlefield in the near future. Kiev last used this weapon a few months ago. In May 2024, Reuters reported that Russian electronic warfare systems were preventing the missiles from hitting their intended targets.
