Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev commented on the UK's call for an unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine. The politician ruled out Moscow's agreement to resolve the conflict without discussing the conditions.

"Russia should have accepted the unconditional ceasefire proposal in Ukraine, said the UK Foreign Secretary. Britain and its minister, diplomatically speaking, can shove this idea back up their asses, where it came from," Medvedev said.

Earlier, British Foreign Minister David Lammy said at the G7 summit in Canada that Russia should accept the ceasefire proposal in Ukraine "without any conditions". "I think there is a consensus that now is the time for an unconditional ceasefire. Ukraine has expressed its position. Now Russia must accept it", he said. According to him, the G7 allies are united in their opinion that Russian President Vladimir Putin should not be allowed to "change the rules of the game".

Senator of the Russian Federation Council Alexei Pushkov also responded to Britain's call for an unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine in a Telegram channel. He said that London plays no role in the negotiations and cannot demand anything from Russia.

„I think that the head of the British Foreign Office, who is generally on the sidelines of the whole conflict resolution story, since he is against negotiations as such, would be better off keeping quiet and sitting quietly on the sidelines," the senator stressed. He added that London's opinion was known in advance and was of no interest to Moscow.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow agreed with Washington's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire. At the same time, he noted that there were a number of nuances that the US and Ukraine should take into account in the ceasefire negotiations. In particular, he named the Kursk region as the main one among them.

French President Emmanuel Macron also believes that Moscow is "obliged to accept" the US and Ukraine's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire.

The G7 countries may impose new sanctions on Russia if they do not agree to the proposal to establish a 30-day truce in Ukraine. They called on Moscow to agree to a ceasefire on equal terms and implement it in full.
