Russia and the United States will discuss ways to ensure safe shipping in the Black Sea during talks on a possible peace agreement with Ukraine at a meeting in the Saudi city of Jeddah, which could be held early next week, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
"The meeting may not take place on Sunday… "it could be early next week," Peskov told reporters, expressing hope that expert-level talks would continue in the coming days.
Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump have discussed the resumption of the Black Sea Initiative (the so-called grain deal), but there are "many nuances that need to be clarified", Peskov added, quoted by TASS. He stressed that this would be one of the main topics of the meeting between the technical teams of Moscow and Washington.
In addition to the shipping issue, the two sides may also discuss other aspects of the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine that they consider necessary, Peskov added.
