Great Britain is considering deporting migrants seeking asylum on the island to Balkan countries, the "Times" newspaper reported, citing government sources.
It is noted that British authorities are developing proposals to open “return centers“ abroad, where refugees would be sent after they have been denied asylum and have exhausted all appeal options.
Ministers plan to reach out to Balkan countries, including Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and North Macedonia. If the scheme is implemented, Britain will pay the host country for each refugee.
Earlier, The Guardian reported that Ukrainian refugees in the UK could lose their homes and jobs due to the long visa application process. According to the new rules, the visa can be extended no earlier than one month before its expiration.
