Ksenia Fadeeva knows what it is to pay with your freedom for fighting for it. She was monitored, arrested, convicted and exchanged, recalls "Nova TV".
She began to engage in politics when she came of age. She believes that Russia deserves a better future without corruption. “I have never been indifferent to what is happening here”, says Ksenia.
In 2017, she met Alexei Navalny and became the coordinator of his headquarters in Tomsk. She is also the person who was with him hours before he was poisoned in his hotel room in Tomsk.
Fadeeva was sentenced to 9 years in prison for extremist activities. She was sent to a colony in Novosibirsk. In August 2024, after lengthy and secret negotiations, Russia and Belarus exchanged 26 prisoners with the West. Among them were the most famous dissidents and political prisoners of Vladimir Putin's regime. Ksenia Fadeeva is one of them.
“Navalny was very brave, he charged everyone with his energy. He was an absolute patriot. He was ready to give his life for the future of our country and he did it”, says Ksenia Fadeeva.
She admits that she was worried that she might be put in prison. “In Russia, the transition to dictatorship was not abrupt. "At first, when I joined the headquarters in Tomsk, I was aware that there were risks. Back then, we were involved in anti-corruption investigations of local officials, we organized rallies. In 2021, everything collapsed and our organization was declared extremist," says Ksenia.
