Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the opposition today of "fueling anarchy" by supporting growing anti-government protests against the dismissal of the head of the "Shin Bet" internal security service and the renewal of military operations in the Gaza Strip, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.

"Maybe you can try to respect the will of the people for once?", Netanyahu addressed his "opposition colleagues" during a tense session of the Israeli parliament.

"Maybe you will stop fueling division, hatred and anarchy in the streets? Once and for all, democracy is not in danger in Israel – unlike the power of bureaucrats“, he stressed in defense of the government's policy.

Earlier today, Netanyahu threatened to annex parts of the Gaza Strip if the radical group "Hamas" did not release Israeli hostages held in the Palestinian enclave.

According to the health authorities controlled by "Hamas", 830 people have died since the renewal of Israeli strikes on March 18, including 38 in the last 24 hours. The total number of victims since the start of the war on October 7, 2023 has reached 50,183 people.

Today, "Hamas" warned that Israeli hostages in Gaza could be killed if Israel continues its strikes or tries to free them by force.

“Whenever the occupation (Israel – AFP note) tries to take back hostages by force, it ends up returning them in coffins“, the Islamist movement said.
