The "Immortal Regiment" march will be held in Washington today for the first time in six years, project coordinator Anna Blokha announced.

“We are, of course, very happy, because we have not held the event for six years, first because of the pandemic, then because of the difficult political situation, we are very happy that we received permission“, she said.

According to the coordinator, the authorities have allowed the presence of 300 people at the event, but she expects fewer participants.

"We think there will be about a hundred people", she estimated.

The rally will start in Lafayette Square Park, opposite the White House and then head to the World War II monument.

The Russian Ambassador to the United States, Alexander Darchiev, is not expected to attend the event, the coordinator added.

Ukrainian servicemen will take part in the parade in London to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany, British Defense Minister John Healy announced, as quoted by ITV.

“Eighty years after Victory in Europe Day, we will honor the veterans of the war, our greatest generation. It is fitting that the Ukrainian armed forces, now fighting on the front lines of freedom, should be represented at the event on Monday,“ he said.

According to the television channel, more than a thousand members of the British armed forces will take part in the parade. In addition, several other events are planned in the kingdom to mark the anniversary.
In late April, the Russian embassy in London announced that it did not expect an invitation to commemorative events in the UK to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory due to the "hostile course of this country".

Moscow has repeatedly stated that some Western countries are trying to rewrite world history, and according to Putin, Russia must firmly defend "the truth about the decisive contribution of the Soviet people" to the Great Victory.
