India will maintain measures taken against Pakistan despite the ceasefire, Reuters reported, citing government sources.

According to the agency, India's decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty after the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 remains in force. Trade and visa measures also remain in force.

India and Pakistan have a 1960 Indus Waters Treaty on the distribution of water. Under the agreement, Islamabad received control over the Indus itself and its tributaries Chenab and Jhelum, which flow from Indian territory, but India, under the treaty, could use their water for irrigation of neighboring fields and for the needs of residents of neighboring areas. New Delhi gained full control over the Beas, Ravi and Sutlej rivers. Under this agreement, New Delhi and Islamabad agreed to exchange data, for which purpose the Standing Committee on Indus was established.

As FAKTI already reported, India and Pakistan agreed on a ceasefire today. According to India's First Deputy Foreign Minister Vikram Misri, at 3:35 p.m. local time (12:05 Bulgarian time) the Chief of Military Operations of Pakistan called the Chief of Military Operations of India. After the military talks, "an agreement was reached that the two sides will cease all firing and military action on land, in the air and at sea from 5:00 p.m. Indian Standard Time (13:30 Bulgarian time)", Misri said.
