Russian President Vladimir Putin may be forced to agree to a 30-day ceasefire. The condition for this to happen is one: to strengthen support for the Ukrainian armed forces with long-range weapons from Kiev's allies. This opinion was expressed on the air of FREEDOM TV by the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (2005-2010), Army General Mykola Malomuzh.

He emphasized that comprehensive pressure on Putin is the only way to stop the war in Ukraine.

„You can only talk to Putin from a position of strength. Pressure on Russia from the United States, which is constantly changing its position, is not working. Putin perceives this as weakness. He has repeatedly used US leader Donald Trump to put pressure on Ukraine, which is suffering from the constant terror of war,“ the general noted.

Therefore, the most realistic pressure on the Russian Federation, in his opinion, is to provide Ukraine with additional military assistance for deterrence.

“We need military support packages for Ukraine that will give it a tens of times greater advantage. These are specific weapons - long-range missiles “Tomahawk“ and “Taurus“, various missile strike systems, precision munitions and other means of warfare. "Ukraine needs to be reinforced with precision weapons dozens of times," Malomuzh stressed.

He added that the successes of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in attacks on Russian strategic targets complicate Putin's position on the international stage.

Russian President Vladimir Putin must "start taking it seriously" about participating in peace talks, British Foreign Secretary David Lamy said yesterday, quoted by PA Media/DPA, BTA reported.

Lami praised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for his "readiness to engage in talks" at a time when European foreign ministers gathered in London to discuss the continent's security.

Zelensky extended an invitation to his Russian counterpart to meet face-to-face for talks to end the war this Thursday in Turkey. Putin also offered direct talks with Kiev. "Now is the time for Vladimir Putin to start taking peace in Europe seriously, to start taking a ceasefire seriously and to start taking a serious approach to talks," Lamy said.
