Former US President Joe Biden could not immediately remember the date of his eldest son Beau's death, according to an audio recording of Biden's testimony before former special counsel Robert Hurr, who is investigating the case of improper storage of classified documents, Axios writes.
According to the publication, the audio recording "allows us to conclude" that Biden had difficulty finding the right words and dates when talking about the death of his son Beau in 2015, but that he "did not forget about his existence", as previously stated in Hurr's final report.

According to the publication, the episode became a central point in Hurr's 2024 report, which concluded that jurors were unlikely to convict Biden of mishandling classified documents because they would likely view him as an "old man with memory problems".
Earlier, Special Counsel Robert Hurr concluded his investigation into Biden's improper storage of classified documents. In his report, he stated that there was no point in instituting a criminal case against Biden for the above reasons.
In early 2023, it became known that a batch of classified documents had been discovered in the building of an analytical center associated with Biden. They date back to Biden's time as Vice President of the United States. According to the White House, the documents were discovered in November 2022. The investigation into Biden's improper storage of classified documents was concluded in February of last year.
