Ukraine does not intend to withdraw its troops from the territories it controls in the DPR, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said after his phone call with US President Donald Trump.
"No one will withdraw our troops from our territories," he said.
"No ultimatums. "If Russia sets conditions for the withdrawal of our troops, it means that they do not want a ceasefire," he added.
Ukraine may sign a memorandum with Russia on the settlement of the conflict and is waiting for Russian proposals to present its vision, he added.
“In a bilateral format, there may be a corresponding memorandum, which may then lead to a map that leads to the end of the war, to an agreement that will be supported by both sides and in which there will be a ceasefire,“ Zelensky said.
He added that the details of the future memorandum are not yet known to him. "If the Russian side proposes a memorandum, on our part, after the relevant signals, we, after receiving the memorandum or proposals from the Russians, will be able to formulate our view," he noted.
According to him, the US president has announced that in addition to the ceasefire, the memorandum will formulate plans for further settlement of the situation.
