The US has produced the first B61-13 nuclear bomb at the Pantex plant in Texas, Aviationist magazine reported.
US Energy Secretary Chris Wright attended the ceremony and placed a factory seal on the body of the bomb. “This achievement signals American power to both our adversaries and allies“, he said.
The B61-13 is designed for use with tactical fighters and strategic bombers. One of the first aircraft to receive the B61-13 is expected to be the B-21 Raider.
It was my honor today to stamp the first completed B61-13 unit at the @PantexPlant!
