The Israeli army has intercepted a missile fired from Yemen, reports the "Reuters" agency. According to sources, the attack bears the hallmarks of Yemeni rebels from the Houthi movement, reports News.bg.
The missile set off sirens in several areas of Central Israel, but no casualties or serious damage were reported.
Despite Israeli airstrikes on targets in Yemen, the Houthis continue with rocket attacks on Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Although they previously announced an end to attacks on US ships, they have not refrained from actions against Israeli sites. The group has not yet claimed responsibility for today's attack.
Israel has responded to previous attacks with several airstrikes - on May 6, it bombed the airport in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, and last week hit the Red Sea ports of Hodeidah and Salif.
Since the start of the conflict between Israel and "Hamas" in October 2023, the Houthis have carried out dozens of rocket and drone attacks on Israel. However, most of them have been successfully intercepted or have not reached their targets.
