The US will officially fire employees from humanitarian programs of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Ukraine on July 1, documents on the American government procurement portal show.
Some of the employees were hired after Donald Trump won the last presidential election in the US. The portal reported on the dismissal of a senior economic growth advisor, a senior technical advisor on global health security, an advisor on donor coordination, a senior humanitarian programs analyst, a specialist in online testing of job applicants for the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, and an advisor on HIV/AIDS. However, the names of specific specialists are not disclosed.
The amounts of employment contracts for different periods are also given. The most expensive of them was concluded with a public relations specialist (senior communications consultant), and its value is 455 thousand dollars.
The wording of the termination amendment reads: “The purpose of this amendment is to terminate the contract in the interest of the government“. The last day of work and the new version of the contract is July 1, 2025.
The words “in the interest of the government“ are standard for the US Government Efficiency Agency, which is headed by entrepreneur Elon Musk. If dismissed on this basis, the employee may receive compensation, but the nuances of this procedure depend on the specific cases.
